Greenfield setup for enterprises and public authorities
Cloud Landing Zone: secure and audit-ready from day one
Building a new cloud environment? You get identity, network, governance and EU data residency as a secure foundation before the first workload moves in. Insight42 has received the German Innovation Award.
Discuss your landing zoneAccess only for the right people
You always know who can access what: Entra ID, Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management, set up properly from the start.
A network that grows with you
Connect new applications without re-planning – with hub-and-spoke, private endpoints and ExpressRoute/Interconnect.
Guardrails that make teams faster
Costs and rules stay under control automatically: policy as code, naming conventions and cost tags instead of approval loops.
Your data stays in the EU
Data residency, encryption and key strategy planned the European way before data flows – saving you the retrofit, which is always more expensive.
How your landing zone is built
- Clarify requirements. In a joint workshop we capture planned workloads, compliance requirements such as GDPR and, where relevant, BSI C5, your team structure and budget.
- Define the target architecture. A hierarchy of management groups and subscriptions in Azure or folders and projects in Google Cloud, the network topology, and the identity and role model.
- Deploy as code. The environment is rolled out with infrastructure as code and policy as code – reproducible, versioned and auditable.
- Hand over and enable. Documentation, an operations runbook and a walkthrough, so your team can connect new workloads on its own.
What you have at the end
- A clean hierarchy for environments, teams and cost centres
- An identity and role concept based on least privilege, including Privileged Identity Management
- A hub-and-spoke network with central control and private endpoints
- Policies for regions, tags, encryption and logging as code
- Central logging and monitoring as the basis for operations
- Documentation that auditors and new team members can follow
Frequently asked questions about cloud landing zones
What is a cloud landing zone?
A pre-configured, secure base environment in Azure or Google Cloud in which identity, network, security and governance are settled before the first application moves in.
Is a landing zone worth it if we already run workloads in the cloud?
Often, yes. Environments that grew organically tend to have inconsistent permissions, open network paths and no cost control. A landing zone can be introduced afterwards, and existing workloads are then moved over step by step.
How long does the setup take?
That depends on scope and your compliance requirements. After the workshop you receive a concrete plan for time and effort.
Is a landing zone automatically GDPR compliant?
It creates the technical prerequisites: EU regions enforced by policy, encryption with your own key strategy and traceable logs. Assessing your specific data processing remains the task of your data protection team.
